HOW TO SELECT A LIFT CHAIR

STEP 1: DECIDE ON THE PURPOSE AND GENERAL USE OF THE CHAIR

The first critical step is to determine what type of lift chair you require: single motor or dual motor.

STEP 2: SELECT THE RIGHT SIZE FOR YOU

Size is a key factor in selecting your lift chair as the lift chair will need to fit the user’s body. The following checklist should be noted when determining your best lift chair fit:

  • Check the size rating of a lift chair to ensure it corresponds with the user’s height and weight. Lift chairs range from small to extra large.
  • Check the weight capacity of the lift chair.
  • A comfortable lift chair fit allows the user’s feet to rest on the floor when they are sitting upright with their back against the backrest of the chair.
  • The seat should be wide enough to accommodate the user’s hips at their widest point.
  • If the user has long legs, consider a lift chair which provides added length to the footrest to help comfortably support their entire ankle and foot.
  • Check the measurements of the proposed area that the lift chair will be placed in, to ensure that it will accommodate the lift chair, especially when it is in its full recline position.
  • Double check if the user requires any special features such as an adjustable headrest, swivel base, castors, tall back, or wide seating. We have conveniently listed all the product specifications for our lift chair models on pages 18-19.
